RESTAURANT

La Terraza de Montalvo is one of the most frequented restaurants of the city. For its tables every year pass more than 25,000 people who come to enjoy its exquisite dishes and affordable prices. The restaurant offers a Menu of the day, from Monday to Friday, with a broad variety of dishes for 9.60 €. You can also try the á la carte menu, accompanied by a selective wine list. Either way, we recommend that you make a reservation.

HOW TO GET THERE?

The Hotel Montalvo is strategically situated adjacent to the N-630 highway at kilometre 343, also called “Vía de la Plata”, the main access to the city from the South of Spain. It is set at one of the far ends of the Industrial zone “El Montalvo II” where first-rate views of the monumental area of the city are appreciated.

The Salamanca bus and train station are three and four kilometres, respectively, from the hotel. A taxi will easily transport you to the hotel from both stations.

The bus line #9 (Capuchinos – Zurguén) stops 300 metres from the hotel door.

WHAT TO VISIT?

Salamanca is the city in Spain in which during its Renaissance period was left with an impressionable mark on its most emblematic structures. The blossoming Renaissance of this University City generated the greatest plateresque works that can be appreciated in the Plaza Mayor, one of the most important plazas in Spain for its size and style; the Monterrey Palace, the architectural unification of the two Cathedrals and the University façade, one of the most significant and ancient in Europe, all three constructions being the work of the Churriega brothers. “La Casa de Las Conchas”, decorated with the symbol of the “Orden de Santiago” on its walls, and the Clavero Tower undeniably deserve a visit.

In the surroundings of Salamanca, and following the course of the Tormes River, is situated the fortified city of Ledesma, in which one finds on the outskirts the great reservoir Almendra. The “Arribes del Duero” Natural Reserve offers brilliant landscapes for those that desire a little peace and quiet.
